September has already been such a full and meaningful month, and I wanted to take a moment to sit down and share a little of it with you.

Pictured above: Caedon's card that he made for me.

I turned 41 this month, and I kept the celebration simple — it was what I wanted this year. We went to two of my favorite restaurants, and Caedon & Drew surprised me with a shirt I’d been eyeing for a while. The whole weekend felt peaceful and sweet, which honestly is exactly the kind of birthday I wanted this year. More than anything, I’ve noticed this shift in myself: I no longer care what people think, and that in itself feels like the best gift. At this stage in my life, I just want peace, stillness, and to soak in the small joys.

Speaking of small joys, Caedon and I have been spending as much time outside as we can while the warm weather lasts. The pool has been one of our favorite spots this Summer, but he’s also really into playing baseball in the front yard, puzzles, coloring, and -- of course -- racing cars. He’s almost four now, which blows my mind. Watching him grow and seeing the world through his eyes keeps me grounded in the best way.

Pictured above: sitting in the bleachers watching my niece play volleyball!

I also got the chance to watch one of my nieces play volleyball this month — go Rockets! Sitting in the gym brought back so many high school sports memories, and it was just fun to cheer her on.

On the work front, I'm kicking off my first holiday market of the season in Jackson, MS! I'm actually writing this blog from my hotel room. After setup today, I snuck away for a few hours at the Mississippi Art Museum, where an exhibit on the “Four Freedoms” really struck me. They also have a beautiful outdoor garden space that felt like a deep breath after the busy energy of show prep.

And maybe the most important update of all: I’ve been making artwork a priority again. Not just art for products, but originals — the kind of painting that comes straight from my soul. It feels so freeing, so right, to return to the heart of why I started creating in the first place.

As summer winds down, I’m feeling excited for what’s ahead. Cooler weather, changing leaves, camping, hiking — fall is my favorite, and I can’t wait to spend more time outside.

Thanks for letting me share these little pieces of life with you. Wishing you a September filled with peace, joy, and fresh inspiration too.

With gratitude,
Amanda
