Hi friends,
If I had to choose one word for August, it would be reflection. This month gave me space to step away, to soak in little family moments, and to prepare for what’s ahead in my business.

At the beginning of the month, I traveled to San Miguel, Mexico for a BrainTrust retreat with other women entrepreneurs. The colors, the architecture, and the time spent with such wise and generous women filled me with fresh perspective. Sometimes the best thing we can do for our businesses is to step back, listen, and reflect — and that week gave me exactly that.

Later, we headed to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, which has become one of my favorite weeks of the whole year. Both sets of parents join us, which makes it extra special. The days were filled with swimming, eating ice cream, coloring with Caedon, and just being together. It’s such a reminder that the little things really are the big things.

On the business side, August brought some exciting launches — garden flags and recycled totes. Seeing customers light up about these new products has been the best part for me. I love creating new things, but it’s the joy and excitement they bring to you that makes it worth it.

I also had the chance to work on a few pieces for historical sites, which has been both fun and humbling. I’ll share more when the time is right, but I love creating art tied to places that carry such deep meaning for people.
Behind the scenes, I’ve also been preparing for some transitions in my business due to ongoing tariffs and rising costs. Change is never easy, but I want you to know I’m leaning into resilience and creativity here. My hope is that you feel reassured and maybe even curious about what’s ahead — because I am, too.
Looking forward, September kicks off holiday show season with our first stop at Holiday Market in Jackson, Mississippi. These shows are always a highlight — I love reconnecting with customers and seeing people discover the artwork in person — though I’d be lying if I said they weren’t tiring too! Still, it’s a part of the work I truly look forward to.
So that was August: a mix of travel, family, new products, and preparing for the busy season. I’m stepping into September with gratitude, energy, and the reminder to keep soaking in the little moments.
With love and reflection,
Amanda
