Over the years, I’ve had so many people tell me they chose our hummingbird or dragonfly print because it reminded them of someone they loved and lost. I hear stories all the time about how those pieces bring comfort, peace, and even moments of joy. Those stories and that connection stayed with me. I started feeling this pull to expand on that idea and create a full collection of artwork meant to hold memory, love, and presence in a gentle way.

This week, I finished my second piece for the series. A single cardinal. I recently finished a male and female pair as well. I have a bird feeder close to where I paint and it has been lovely to see cardinals visit, especially while I was working on these first two pieces. I painted the pair intentionally, thinking of grandparents, parents, or couples whose love feels bonded both in life and beyond. Some love doesn’t end, it simply changes form.

I’m currently working on a lamb. It represents softness, innocence, comfort, and care, without needing to explain too much.
My hope is for this collection to include seven to nine pieces in total, so that it can speak to many different kinds of loss and remembrance. This series is unfolding slowly and intentionally. I’m spending real time with each piece, being very mindful of my mindset before I begin, because I want these works to feel truly impactful.
If all goes as planned, I hope to launch the full collection in February. It will also be the first time in years that I’m offering the original paintings for purchase. Each piece will be available as fine art prints, hand signed prints, and canvases, and I’ll also be offering framing options so they can be ready to live beautifully in your home.
More than anything, I hope that when someone looks at one of these pieces, they feel peace. That they’re reminded of special memories, deep love, and a quiet connection that still exists. This series is meant to be gentle, personal, and full of heart, and I’m grateful to share it with you as it continues to grow.

Thank you for sharing your heart expressed in your art. Our human hearts are made for connection, so I thank you for furthering that.
Oh, I LOVE this series so much. Such a brilliant idea! It truly touches the hearts of many and the cardinal certainly speaks to many of us of our beloved departed ones. I cannot wait to purchase the Cardinals, Amanda. Thank you for your creativity, talent, and brilliance.
I’m so looking forward to the release of these new pieces. I’m recently widowed and the cardinal prints touched my heart! Thank you!
Great idea! I love how you continue to come up with new ideas! You are evolving in a very special way! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks Amanda!
I love seeing this series. Red Cardinals mean a lot to me. My mom was covered in a blanket of birds her last day in Hospice The Red Cardinal was in the center. The hospice team gave me that blanket. Every time I see a Cardinal I think of her.
Love the remembrance pieces. Will you have one for loss if a child? We lost our great grandson to fetal demise at 36 weeks. So heartbreaking.
