Two words to wrap up July… Wild & Wonderful? Crazy & Exhausting? Or for all of us in Alabama: Raining & Hot.
June & July are notorious for slower shopping online, but they’re prime ordering for stores for the holiday season. So our “slow season” is kinda just May. And by “kinda” we mean maybe 2 weeks of it. We spent much of July prepping for wholesale shows in Atlanta, Minneapolis, and for our — brand new — location with Diverse Marketing in Las Vegas.
I often catch myself wondering how, truly how, has this once farmer’s-market-stand business now taking me by air to Las Vegas to show my product to an entire new set of folks. We tell our online and retail customers all the time that we appreciate them: and it’s true.
There is no way I’d be here doing this thing without y’all, without my team, without my family, without my friends, without anyone out there rooting for us to do this biz thing and make a little tiny difference in this big ol’ world.
So what did we do in July? A LOT. Here’s the Amanda Klein Co. highlights, in chronological order…
1: We held our biggest sale of the year, our July 4th Sale. Since I started this business with my 50 state wall art prints, I am pretty adamant about having our July 4th sale be one of our biggest sales (although I kinda see it more as a celebration than a sale!). It’s huge and takes a lot of coordination to get packages out as quickly as possible and always leaves us feeling tired but humbled.
2: Our new Woodland Series launched on July 16th. So fun. I’m a wildlife lover with a major toxic trait of wanting to get up close and personal with wildlife. So I kinda loved making this series.
3: We attended Atlanta Market for 3 days. We’re part of The Butler Group showroom & love working alongside them. We held an artist signing which was a ton of fun & a great success. Check out our Instagram or Facebook page for some fun market videos!
4: We added a new team member, YAYAYAYAY! And can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do. So excited to have them as part of the crew.
5: And in a span of 5 consecutive days we attend Minneapolis Mart and Las Vegas Mart. Total whirlwind. Lots of fun. Absolutely exhausted & ready to do it all over again in January.
6: I'm working on a ton of new pieces & I'm really excited about that. I feel like the last 3 years have been absolutely non-stop between baby and business (and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way) ... but the hard part is that my art has taken a back seat. That being said: 3 years in and I have a fabulous team surrounding me that is working HARD at giving me time to create. Which really makes my heart full. And on a different note: we’re also in the process of redesigning our website — yawn but yay!
7 (but personal!): We’ve spent many a July weekend either poolside or in our front yard playing on a splash pad. Playing Monster Trucks or racing race cars. Just doing all the sweet summer family things and trying to soak up all these precious moments. We’re heading to the beach in August and I’m downright giddy about seeing Caedon play in the sand and swim in the ocean. What was like before baby? I don’t even know. 💛
Thank you for supporting us, it really is an honor to serve you.
We are ready for you August!
