So, we made it to Italy ! I am 3 days into my residency. 🇮🇹💛

We landed on Friday and honestly… it has been an absolute whirlwind. The jet lag wasn't as bad as I thought it would be when it comes to fatigue, but my internal clock is wayyyy off. But all in all, we are slowly turning into functioning humans again… lol.

Pictured above: This was his first time flying, he loved every minute of it. This was him pretty much the entire way, except for when he was sleeping.

Getting here was a whole adventure in itself. We flew into Rome and then drove up to Greve in Chianti. And can we talk about Caedon?! The kid LOVED the airplane. He literally did not want the 9-hour flight to end… we were the last people off the plane and he was all for it. Since we got here, we’ve already explored a medieval castle, hit up a local winery, and took a day trip to Pisa. It’s all just so gorgeous. I can wholeheartedly see why people fall in love with Italy, I sure have.

The rhythm of this artist residency is already feeling so good. I’ve been spending my mornings through lunch working heavily with watercolor and ink, plus a little gouache (planning a fun piece for tomorrow!). My main goal right now is honestly just letting the art flow. I’m not overthinking it, not planning it out before my brush hits the paper, and i’m not even trying to make "good" art… just art. Just letting it happen naturally, which feels so freeing.

In the afternoons and evenings, we just explore together as a family and take it all in. I've been posting a daily recap over on facebook & instagram....if you want to see much more!

It’s been a total dream so far! So excited to share more as the weeks go on 🎨✨
